If it isn't started by the session it will be started through DBus-activation
and I guess the DBus timeout is 30 seconds which is why you'll see the above
error when Thunar startup takes longer.

OK, the real problem here is Thunar taking a very long time to start up, that
looks like https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7373

You can ignore that, it has nothing to do with this problem and is harmless.
