https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=685469 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=685469#c0 Summary: Network fails when bridge is on top of bond using 802.3ad Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: schueffler@softgarden.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 In my server, there are two NICs eth0 and eth1, both enslaved to a bonding device bond0, and bond0 is enslaved in a bridge br0. If the bonding device is set up to use mode=active-backup, all works fine. If the bonding device is set up to use mode=802.3ad, all packets are lost. The packet TX and RX-counter as shown in ifconfig nevertheless show some packets passing by eth0, eth1, and bond0 (but very low numbers like 5 packets after some minutes), but none in br0. The setup worked before in openSUSE 11.3. Without the bridge, and instead use the bonding device directly, the network is also working fine. Installed kernel: 2.6.37.1-1.2-default Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add bond device using 802.3ad (and a corresponding switch) using two nics 2. Add bridge, enslave the bond 3. restart network. Actual Results: Network is not working anymore (e.g. no ping, tcp or udp packets go in or out) Expected Results: NEtwork should work. Work-A-Round: use active-backup (and thus take the degradation in speed) instead of 802.3ad as bonding mode. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
