https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682861 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682861#c0 Summary: insserv does not work for smpppd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 When calling insserv /etc/init.d/smpppd, insserv dies with a screwed message: insserv: FATAL: service network is missed in the runlevels 4 to use service SuSEfirewall2_setup insserv: exiting now! runlevels 4 do not exist at all Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. insserv /etc/init.d/smpppd 2. see what happens 3. Actual Results: Strange error message, no action Expected Results: Guess what :-) ls -l /etc/init.d/rc5.d: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 26. Mär 19:44 K01smpppd -> ../smpppd* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 26. Mär 19:44 S11smpppd -> ../smpppd* or something similar ... Calling insserv -f /etc/init.d/smpppd works. Adding -v to the commandline does not provide additional useful information. I guess the header of /etc/init.d/smpppd is broken, but I do not know how it ought to look like in order to fulfill the requirements of insserv. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
