Summary: openSUSE doesn't boot at all
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.4
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

openSUSE doesn't boot at all
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do a fresh installation of openSUSE 11.4
2. Start openSUSE
Actual Results:
openSUSE doesn't boot at all.
After choosing the normal "openSUSE 11.4" entry in the boot menu, I see:
doing fast boot
Creating device nodes with udev
_
Nothing more happens. The computer hangs.
Expected Results:
openSUSE boots normally.
Adding "nomodeset" to the kernel parameters solves the problem.
(The "failsafe" versions was working, so I was trying out which parameter of
the "failsafe" entry made openSUSE working, and it seems that it was
"nomodeset".)
