https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682179 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682179#c0 Summary: rtl8187 prevents normal hibernation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lashkevi@landau.ac.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 My computer is Toshiba Satellite L300-11E, and the kernel uses the "rtl8187" module to treat the wireless card. When I try to hibernate the computer it either freezes at the step of creating the image or does not power off automatically after creation of the image. The bug is completely cured by adding a file "/etc/pm/config.d/suspendmodules" with the only line SUSPEND_MODULES="rtl8187" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on the computer and login a user. 2. Set "splash = n" in the "/etc/suspend.conf" file for verbosity. 3. Start the hibernation proces. Actual Results: a) Computer freezes while creating the image (the progress bar does not appear) or b) The computer successfully creates the image, but does not power off automatically. In the last case if you power off it by hands (long press on the power button), it resumes successfully while booting. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
