https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679466 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679466#c0 Summary: upon installation, ld.so.conf configured in a way that disables GCC Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bkorb@gnu.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=419192) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=419192) text listing of installed packages User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 Upon installation, /etc/ld.so.conf looked like this:
# cat /etc/ld.so.conf;ldconfig;gcc -o hello hello.c /usr/X11R6/lib64 /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/local/lib64 /usr/x86_64-suse-linux/lib /usr/local/lib /opt/kde3/lib /lib64 /lib /usr/lib64 /usr/lib /opt/kde3/lib64 include /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.5/cc1: error while loading \ shared libraries: libmpfr.so.1: cannot open shared object file: \ No such file or directory
In order to fix GCC, I had to move "/usr/lib64" higher up:
# cat /etc/ld.so.conf;ldconfig;gcc -o hello hello.c /usr/X11R6/lib64 /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/local/lib64 /usr/lib64 /usr/x86_64-suse-linux/lib /usr/local/lib /opt/kde3/lib /lib64 /lib /usr/lib /opt/kde3/lib64 include /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf #
If there's a record of my installation selections, I'll supply it. Meanwhile, attached is a list of installed packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fresh install using the package selections I made Actual Results: cc1 won't run because ld.so doesn't bind it to a library it needs Expected Results: cc1 works. I don't know what severity to put it at. Probably you'll need to ensure that online installations don't go awry, but otherwise you won't be re-rolling the release. Certainly, you should look at any package that fiddles with /etc/ld.so.conf content and ensure that it won't frummitz the result. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
