Of course the amount of user wanted packages depends on the way packages get
selected during installation or image creation. 

But due to the way patterns are currently handled, packages selected by
patterns never appear as being selected by user. That's basically another
variety of https://fate.novell.com/309385 (unfortunately not public).

The opensuse way of introducing packages representing patterns is basically ok,
but what's missing is the link between both objects so zypp is able to
recognize this. A little line in the pattern metadata could help here. But if
this is the solution, SLES stakeholders should agree to follow this approach as
well.

priority to this. Otherwise close as FEATURE#309385.
