Summary: Strange behavior with font setting in KDE
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.4
Version: Final
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE4 Workspace
AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@xxxxxxx
ReportedBy: jimreynold2nd@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx

I tried to change application fonts to "DejaVuSans" at first bootup of a
freshly installed system but couldn't. See the steps to reproduce for details.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open KDE's "Configure Desktop" dialog and go to "Appearance" -> "Fonts".
2. "Adjust All Fonts" (or one font) to "DejaVu Sans", size 10.
3. Click "Apply".
Actual Results:
Fonts of applications changed to something that is not DejaVu Sans. Going back
into the appearance config dialog and the fonts are showed as "Adobe Courier"
Expected Results:
Fonts on application should change to DejaVu Sans; and appearance config dialog
should show fonts chosen as DejaVu Sans.
If now I try to adjust one of the fonts again, I would see that the list of
fonts is not the same anymore: instead of just "DejaVu Sans", now I see "DejaVu
Sans [Unknown]", "DejaVu Sans [Light]", "DejaVu Sans [Bold]"... among others.
I also noticed in the font list that many other fonts did not render correctly
in the preview box.
The only extra package I chose during installation apart from default was "Base
Development"
