kernel-firmware supplements all supported hardware and is default on the live
media, that's all that should be necessary. If there is hardware not
supplemented, you need to provide more details.
OK, I believe you that the package kernel-firmware is present in the live media
(althought being defective: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673054
), but when someone installs openSUSE 11.4 RC1 from the official network
repositories by using openSUSE-NET-*-x86_64.iso, for example, then the entire
kernel-firmware package will be missing from the system. It has to be
selected/installed by hand because it's not part of the default installation.
This is what I'm asking you to change. The package kernel-firmware should be
present on newly installed 11.4 systems by default!
