https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671557 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671557#c0 Summary: pulseaudio is started twice Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: hendrikw@arcor.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b10) Gecko/20110121 Firefox/4.0b10 I am using the KDE desktop in OpenSUSE 11.4 RC1. After login I am getting different error messages from the sound system. In /var/log/messages I see: Feb 13 09:00:46 lthendrik pulseaudio[20532]: pid.c: Daemon already running. Feb 13 09:00:46 lthendrik pulseaudio[20564]: pid.c: Daemon already running. Feb 13 09:00:46 lthendrik pulseaudio[8463]: module.c: Module "module-device-manager" should be loaded once at most. Refusing to load. This is a regression from OS 11.4 milestone 6. I did not report this upstream, because I think it might be a configuration/installation issue of OpenSUSE. It is caused by two autostart-files for pulseaudio. In the directory /etc/xdg/autostart I find: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 220 25. Jan 10:31 pulseaudio.desktop -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 256 25. Jan 10:31 pulseaudio-kde.desktop If I delete one of these files the problem is solved. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install OpenSUSE 11.4 RC1 2. Login into KDE-desktop Actual Results: Produces error messages like: sound device Intel ... (ICH6) is not working, switching to "default" Expected Results: No error messages please. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
