FWIW, GNOME has the following in /usr/bin/gnome: export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulse if test -f /etc/alsa-pulse.conf ; then export ALSA_CONFIG_PATH=/etc/alsa-pulse.conf fi Similar thing can be added to KDE startup script, too?
