Summary: Problems with compiz plugins: fade (fading windows),
desktop-cube, expo
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.4
Version: Factory
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Compiz
AssignedTo: bnc-team-compiz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: badshah400@xxxxxxxxx

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.13)
Gecko/20101203 SUSE/3.6.13-0.2.1 Firefox/3.6.13
Finally with new compiz packages checked in to Factory, I tried the GNOME live
CD build 1050 from http://download.opensuse.org/factory/iso/
I have noted several miscellaneous problems with the compiz integration:
1. Expo and fading windows plugins are disabled by default; fading windows not
working even when enabled (workaround: enable animations and use the fade
animation there). Expo also used to be enabled by default till 11.3.
2. Desktop cube is opaque by default while rotating (unlike default settings in
11.3).
3. No geeko image on top of desktop cube (also missing in 11.3)
4. Minimise plugins do not work (there is no longer such a plugin in 0.9
versions?). What will happen to users who are upgrading from 11.3 with respect
to the minimise plugin then? It was enabled by default in 11.3.
My suggestion is to enable the animations plugin with very basic default
settings to bring compiz integration upto the level of 11.3.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
