This is not the case with kpackagekit update applet or with the software management KCM module. For those, if there is a problem with repository signatures then it will not refresh repositories and will therefore not do an update at all. No option is given to ignore the signature problem. Here is the error I get with the KCM module: A security trust relationship could not be made with the software origin. Please check your software signature settings.
