Hi,
Re my recent addition to the above report, have just noticed the
assignee email address on that page.
Please find attached my log files from the YaST log directory (6 files).
Hope this helps to bring a resolution.
Regards
Melvin Steele

Further to which, retried the install dvd using the repair option.
This threw up similar errors about the 40+ items that were not provided in
install attempt.
Also, in case this dvd was intended to run from windows instead of the usual
self-booting, tried this also to see if it affected the building of the
bootstrap to switch to installed system.
This I regretted, because when it failed, it did not undo the entry it created
in the Windows boot manager, which I have yet to get rid of! (from Vista you
can no longer just edit boot.ini but have to use bcdedit which tells me I'm not
authorised to run, despite being admin, nor can I change the permissions
because these are greyed out)
Below is email reply from Jiri, followed by my response.

Hi Melvin,
thanks for the logs. However, could you, please, attach them to the bug (you
can tar them up as a single file)? It is much more convenient if whoever works
with this bug in the future can access the logs directly from bzilla and does
not need to care who has them in the mailbox.
Additionally, what you attached is only half of the logs: Could you, please,
also attach /mnt/var/log/YaST2, which are logs from the target system, where
some parts of YaST run in chroot?
For more information, have a look here:
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_YaST
Thanks,
Jiri

I have now noticed the attachment option right at the bottom of the page so the
6 logfiles from /var/log/YaST2/y2log are now with these notes. However, since
the above attempts with 11.3, I yesterday sucessfully downloaded, and installed
1.4 (milestone 5) without a single error. Although this is a beta,the
application is as a standby to a LAMP system and I decided to get something in
place, rather than wait of this 11.3 case being solved. Cosequently any other
log files went when the partitions were reformated!
Perhaps the install file should state if other logfiles are needed in addition
to those it does mention?
(wonder if 11.3 would have installed fine too if downloaded instead of from
magazine disk??)
