Tested new installation from both NET iso and full DVD iso with Gnome as default desktop, as well as upgrade with 'zypper dup' from working 11.3. After user name and password, only the Gnome background become visible and nothing more on the desktop arise. It looks like the login process dies out with a desktop freeze here. Switch to console mode Ctrl-Alt-F1 does work however. Tried also autologin to Gnome which resulted in just a black screen. Adding the software patterns and testing login to KDE4 or LXDE sessions from the GDM menu both works ok on 11,4 M4, so it looks to be Gnome specific issue. (I'm also running 11.4 M5 Gnome ok on an Intel based mobile workstation). A dual boot to 11.3 Gnome 2.30 also works ok on the same ASUS/AMD based workstation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.user and password on the GDM menu 2.Gnome session 3. Actual Results: no Gnome desktop arise, just freeze with the plain background Expected Results: Normal Gnome desktop login -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
