Tests results using the test tool
Michal noticed in 656916#c2, that while his test there were a ::1 set on
the loopback interface.
I've made several tests on two hosts using the simple test tool I wrote.
One finding was interesting: there were also a (tentative) address after
a manual "sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1", that was still set
on the eth0 interface that has had the default route before:
# ip a s | grep inet6
inet6 ::1/128 scope host
inet6 2001:zzz:zzzz:zzzz::xxx/64 scope global tentative
I've executed sysctl -w short after the machine booted up...
But I was unable to find any problem [even the tentative addresses were
still set]. I've always got a "Network is unreachable", never a timeout.
0.000165 connect(3, {sa_family=AF_INET6, sin6_port=htons(25),
inet_pton(AF_INET6, "::1", &sin6_addr), sin6_flowinfo=0, sin6_scope_id=0}, 28)
= -1 ENETUNREACH (Network is unreachable) <0.000072>
0.000397 write(2, "\tcan not connect to ipv6<[::1]:2"..., 59 can not
connect to ipv6<[::1]:25>: Network is unreachable
) = 59 <0.000105>
