I've been running the patches you told me to install above, and just hit 
bug 619034, except the work around to kill kwin and restart it did not work.
Something grabs the mouse and won't let you change the focus from the current
window.
It's really really really really really annoying.
I had to save my current windows state, and restart X to get it back.

Also, in general, the keyboard is sluggish(?), I either get repeated characters
or no characters sometimes.
