Kernel has supported this feature since 2.6.29 so no modifications to code are required. The only things needed are a new package (or updated Intel-based package) that will drop microcode in a well-known place on root filesystem (/lib/firmware/amd-ucode to be specific) and updates to /etc/rc.d/microcode.ctl to load the driver for AMD platforms as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: Microcode loader locates the patch, verifies its applicability and loads it into the processor. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
