The plan is to ship openSUSE 11.4 with glib 2.28 (it'll be out in the next few
weeks, possibly next week). And this version of glib removes an extension
point. This is what I mentioned in
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-gnome/2010-10/msg00021.html

I didn't know it was used by LXDE (and possibly XFCE too).

So, we have three options:

a) do the switch to glib 2.28 and update LXDE/XFCE appropriately
b) go back to glib 2.26, which will break the whole gtk3 stack
c) patch glib 2.28 to add back the extension point

c is probably the worse option. I wouldn't be happy with b, but if a is not
easily possible, then we can do it.
