User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12)
Gecko/20101026 SUSE/3.6.12-0.7.1 Firefox/3.6.12

Something started happening recently where, when I log out (just using the "Log
Out" menu entry, back to KDM) and then log back in it's as if I didn't change
anything:

1. desktop folder widget (which displays dozen or so icons) is back to a
different shape and position than I left it in. I'm using the "Plain Desktop"
Activity with a "Display Folder Contents" Widget - the Desktop Folder, if that
helps.

2. the volume is not where I left it (much higher)

3. The panel has shrunk in the horizontal dimension. Again.

I did look in .xsession-errors *after* logging out (by way of a console login)
and note that I see dbus errors.

It almost seems as though settings are not being saved when they are made, and
are queued up until logout, and then fail to save entirely.

Reproducible: Always
