directory files are just .desktop files of Type=Directory, so they should be
handled the same way than .desktop files.
There is no way to make %suse_update_desktop_files find those files since
desktop extension is supposed in /usr/lib/rpm/suse_update_desktop_file.sh
code.

Wine is an example of a package that includes such files
(/usr/share/desktop-directories/).
