Unfortunately we can't track any NVIDIA driver bugs filed against
openSUSE in Novell's bugzilla. Please complain directly to NVIDIA.
Thanks.
Sorry that it took so long time for the reply:
I had this freeze on a Live CD/DVD (11.3 x64 the newest stable at the moment)
too. And there it was the nouveau driver. So I think it's not a bug in the
NVIDIA driver.
Hmm. KMS is disabled when you boot a Live CD/DVD, but nouveau requires KMS,
i.e. fbdev/vesa would be used as driver in your case. Or did you install this
Live CD/DVD?
I've problems like this since I updated from 11.2 to 11.3. First I tried to do
it with zypper but that failed and I had an error with the File System on
boot. So I downloaded the Iso burned it at made the update from the DVD.
I mention that because I think that my freeze problems could be a "chain"
error caused by the broken Update with Zypper and not a real bug.
Yes, this sounds like a messed up system for me. Probabaly a fresh installation
would be the best here.
