Summary: A mirror is carrying a corrupt file
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.3
Version: Final
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: rob.fortune@xxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
Blocker: ---
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8
SUSE/7.0.528.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/7.0.528.0 Safari/534.8
zypper update failed because of the mirror it chose to download this package
from:
http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/openSUSE_11.3/i586/python-sip-devel-4.11.1-47.2.i586.rpm
I manually downloaded it from another mirror and the file was OK so it is a
problem with that mirror. Not sure who to tell so I'm putting it out there, not
sure if to mark it minor or normal either, it's an easy workaround *if* you
know how but people just using normal zypper/yast update won't know how - on
the other hand they probably won't be using factory packages.
As an additional, perhaps it would be a good zypper feature to offer to try and
download the file from a different mirror if the file it receives is corrupt.
Reproducible: Always
