dmesg with accompanying rt-benchmark output to tell hang intervals, ++
After enabling some debugging info in the kernel config (included), I am
getting call traces and messages such as "Hangcheck: hangcheck value past
margin!" in dmesg when resuming from a hang. Previously, hangs did not leave
any trace in dmesg. To understand what's going on, I have modified rt-benchmark
(not included) to output the intervals of hanging (included), in a format that
is easily to interleave with dmesg.
About this testcase:
Rt-benchmark was started early on by a startup script. The computer was left
idling for maybe half an hour, before I mounted two harddisk partitions (sda3,
sda4), began playing a music file with mplayer, closed the lid, unplugged
headphones and an USB mouse. The computer was left stuttering for approximately
3 and a half hours. When I came back, the ~5 minute music file had finished.
Apropos clocksource: My clock is seriously lagging behind. After having used
hpet for 10.5 hours now, the clock is 5.5 hours too late!
