It happens when I e.g list the installed hardware ("Hardware Information" component) in the YaST2 or use the Online Update to update the kernel package. It happens every time. After 3rd try the upgrade kernel procedure broke the kernel installation and now Grub cannot load it. SW: Latest 11.3 release. Does not happen on the Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS. Hardware: - ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO - CORSAIR DDR3 2x1GB 1333Mhz CL9 - AMD Athlon II X2 240, AM3, 2.8 GHz, 2MB (ADX240OCGQBOX) - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB, SATA II, NCQ(ST3500418AS) All set to defaults (not overclocked), hardware in working order, using radeon xorg drivers.
