http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631152 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631152#c0 Summary: Provide a friendlier interface to enter pass phrase for encrypted file systems during boot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: alanprescott@yahoo.co.uk QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.5; Linux) KHTML/4.5.0 (like Gecko) SUSE During the boot sequence the user is prompted to enter the pass phrases for any encrypted filesystems to be mounted. The user is returned to the command line and a series of messages requesting a password (I think 3 messages which overwrite each other) are displayed requesting pass phrase entry. This is messy enough for a single encrypted filesystem but must be awfully confusing for non-geek users if there are multiple pass phrases to be entered. A gui or ncurses entry form would be much better way of entering the pass phrase if this can be done as part of the boot sequence Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
