http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=630994 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=630994#c0 Summary: rcobsworker start fails because curl tries to use proxy when connecting to localhost Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rami.juvonen@gmail.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.126 Safari/533.4 I'm operating in a network which is using proxy server. Proxy settings have been defined system-wide so that proxy is not used for localhost. When I start rcobsworker (server and worker are running on the same machine) the start fails because curl does not get connection to localhost. That happens because curl tries to communicate with localhost over proxy. Giving "empty" proxy server to curl (curl -s "$WORKER_CODE"/getworkercode -x "") in rcobsworker text file seems to be a workaround for this problem. But this should be corrected so that curl would fully honor the proxy settings defined in the system. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Define proxy server for your system and define that proxy is not used for localhost. 2. Give "rcobsworker start" 3. You will get an error because rcobsworker calls curl which tries to communicate with localhost over proxy.
