Chrome, default browser, en.o.o as home page = German login
Firefox, en.o.o as home page = English login
For now no more details.
OK
Five years ago, when I wanted to edit wiki I got to validate my email first.
So, it was as you are establishing now.

1) What is the context here? Was this on stage or production? Was it from
the
English or German wiki? No changes have been made on production yet, so I'm
not sure what is going on. If there is a problem, I will need more detail.

2) Who said that everyone had to log into the wiki? This change will have
absolutely no effect on wiki visitors and subscribers. It will only affect
editors who have not validated their email address.
OK
...
When did it ever work like that? How was it enforced? If this was ever was
the case, then it had changed a very long time ago.
