You don't need to actively log in, but if you are logged in into another
opensuse site eg buildservice, hermes etc you get logged into the wiki
automatically when visiting it. I think that happens more often then wiki edits
and redirecting those users who just want to look up some documentation to the
email validation page would annoy them.
