Summary: "GenericResourceDir doesn't point to a valid resource
directory" message displayed/printed after print to
pdf is used
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.3
Version: Final
Platform: i586
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: ndordea@xxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---
Blocker: ---
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8)
Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 GTB5
Upgrade opensuse 11.2 to opensuse 11.3
The upgrade completed without any issues
Whenever I print a pdf file from Okular, KPDF/KDE3, XPDF, etc
the message
*** Warning: GenericResourceDir doesn't point to a valid resource directory.
is created and printed on a separate sheet.
It happens also when the printing uses "print to pdf" or "virtual pdf printer"
options.
The message is related to ghostscript and it seems that some file[s] is[are]
missing during install/upgrade process.
gs
gs -sGenericREsourceDir=./Resource/
reproduce the issue.
Please note that this behaviour was triggered by the upgrade process.
On 11.2 I haven't had any issues as the one related above.
I feel that is something related to build and/or installation.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. try to print a page of a pdf file
2. print a file using print to pdf OR wirtual pdf
3. in both cases above use preview and a window with that message is displayed
( Ghostscript Messages - KPDF/KDE3 )
