This is not a useful settings for production servers, because it causes the syslog to be flooded with log messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start net-snmp Actual Results: syslog gets a lot of debug messages from snmpd Expected Results: only important snmpd messages in syslog The problem can be solved easily by modifying the sysconfig file. The comment in the fillup-templates file suggests that this was a deliberate decision.
