http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623021 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623021#c0 Summary: Evolution keeps on trying to restore settings from archive Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Evolution AssignedTo: bnc-team-evolution@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: lakhil@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100626 SUSE/3.6.6-1.2 Firefox/3.6.6 I created a backup of my evolution settings from 11.2, using evolution 2.28 (default 11,2 + patch updates). Then I wiped clean my computer and upgraded to openSUSE 11.3, and I tried restoring the evolution settings from the created archive. However, on trying to do this evolution keeps on working on "shutting down evolution". Now I click "Cancel" on the dialog-box showing the progress and force kill evolution. On starting evolution again, I find that it has already restored the entirety of my settings - all of my more than thousands of mail, identities, etc. So why was the progress-bar indicating that the restoration provess was not complete, and why did I have to force kill evolution to see a result? I tried to see if the process wouldreport success, or failure and close at some point. So I cleaned up my evolution prfile, and tried the restoring thing again. But after 7 hours of letting it run, with the progress bar only moving to and fro, I gave up. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try restoring evolution settings from an archived backup 2. 3. Actual Results: Progress bar keeps moving to and fro and process keeps running... forever. Kill evolution, and start it again. You see that settings have been already correctly restored. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
