http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=622965 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=622965#c0 Summary: 11.2 to 11.3 Upgrade : networking failures in GUI Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jphands@eircom.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.10) Gecko/20100506 SUSE/3.5.10-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.10 I upgraded my Fujitsu Amilo Xi 3670 from 11.2 to 1.3 with the released version DVD yesterday. The install seemed to go OK until configuring the network (Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100) with WPA. The setup seemed to go well, the test succeeded, and release notes downloaded OK. However, when it then added the repos for updates, ALL of the repo downloads failed - the URLs wouldn't resolve. I decided to ignore it, and let the install finish. On logging in, no browser would resolve any internet sites (Firefox and Konqueror). Using Konsole, ping resolves domains correctly, but none of the GUI tools can access the internet. This happens in KDE and Gnome. I tried this first as an 11.2 to 11.3 upgrade, and then as a clean 11.3 install - same result. I had to blow away the installation and revert to 11.2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install 11.3 either as an upgrade from 11.2 or as a clean install. Actual Results: Detailed above. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
