http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=622538 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=622538#c0 Summary: vino causes very high network traffic Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lijews@zabka.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.9.1.10) Gecko/20100506 SUSE/3.5.10-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.10 When using vnc (vncviewer) connection to vino-server (2.28.1-2.1.1) network traffic is very high, on the LAN it's almost 4MB/s. When trying to use some lower quality or different encoding (e.g. tight, bgr233, compression) it's still about 3MB/s. This same happens when trying to connect over WAN and ssh tunnel. At the same time using different server (x11vnc) the traffic is 30 times lower. Using vino-2.12 on old SLED-10-SP1 traffic is also 30 times lower. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Run vino-server on any computer. 2.Try to connect to it using different clients and options. 3.Monitor network usage. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
