--- Comment #2 from Thies Thate 2010-07-12 10:46:04 UTC ---
I think my knowledge is not enough to give an exact answer. But the situation
is as follows:
The size of the harddisk is 640GB
I use the follwing primary partitions:
/dev/sda 596.17 GB WDC-WD6400AAKS-7
/dev/sda1 97.65 GB HPFS/NTFS NTFS for Windows Vista
/dev/sda2 996.22 MB Linux swap
/dev/sda3 97.65 GB Linux native Ext4 for Mandriva 2010.1
/dev/sda4 100.00 GB Linux native Ext4 / for openSUSE 11.3
I installed openSUSE 11.3 as last distro the menu.lst is

I think, because all partitions are smaller than 128GB the /boot partition is
always below 128GB. Or is this taken relatif with regard to the mbr (under
windows)
By the way, during installation I can choose many possibilities for booting. I
always use the normal MBR. But that is not the standard advice openSUSE gives.
I did not yet studied mij BIOS. If that is necessary I'll send more
information.

Thies, is your /boot partition below 128GB or not?
It is possible that this limit is void, it is possible that it is not. It
depends on your BIOS, YaST cannot know which BIOS does support booting from
128GB disks and which don't.
