compiz-manager is a wrapper around a window manager. The fact that it's a
script is not all that important.

The same will happen if you launch metacity and then kill it (compiz is a
window manager, equal to metacity).

Killing the WM will destroy your window decoration of course.

I'll have a look what I can do out of this, but most likely nothing for 11.3
release (but this is also not a new behavior: has been like this since ever).

anyway: Thanks for reporting it. i'm sure somehow we'll find a solution around
this.
