http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619791 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619791#c0 Summary: failure of script 01-dcbd.sh during initrd installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: klaus.kelting@t-online.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 During installation of openSUSE 11.3 RC2 I got this error message: "dm error occured during initrd installation: script /lib/mkinitrd/setup/01-dcbd.sh failed". System is a Dell Precision M6500 laptop with raid0 (intel rapid storage). CPU is an Intel Core i7 Q820 with 8 GB of memory. Graphics processor Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M. Harddisk: 2 x 500 GB hard disks with raid0. Severity: Showstopper for all activities involving "mkinitrd" for this system. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Get appropriate hardware (x86-64, with raid0 used for at least 2 hard disks) 2.Insert DVD with openSUSE 11.3 RC2 and start installation 3.Start the installation process with a complete installation of all software available on the dvd. Say yes to option: enable dmraid. Actual Results: Script /lib/mkinitrd/setup/01-dcbd.sh fails (possibly just the first script of a series of scripts) Expected Results: script 01-dcbd.sh works without failure, mkinitrd creates a valid initial RAM disk to be used for booting the system -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
