But two things. One, I recall that PK_TMP_DIR existed in the Gnome version (and remained, as the top entry) in the graphical display of repos, I think from the start; I just thought it was something new the Zypper crew had implemented! Second, the same behaviour (not being able to install a .rpm through a browser download using PM, or right-clicking in Dolpin) exists in the KDE version that I now have installed, although the entry doesn't exist in the repo graphical display, and doesn't show on a "zypper lr" I just did in KDE.
