--- Comment #94 from Dr. Werner Fink 2010-05-17 14:56:02 UTC ---
On openSUSE 11.2 please do not store any localtime data at /boot/grub/
.. simply correct HWCLOCK in /etc/sysconfig/clock any run mkinitrd to
refresh /boot/initrd with /etc/localtime, /usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC, the
program warpclock from /lib/mkinitrd/bin/, and the script clock.sh.
On next boot the program warpclock informs the kernel that CMOS clock
is not running in UTC but local time and provides also the offset to
enable the kernel to set its own system time back to the international
standard which is UTC. With the help of /etc/localtime of the initrd
and from disk the local time is uses for all user space operations.
