hi!
Installed the packages from X11:/Compiz and created a new user. A set of
default plugins are now enabled, therefore window decoration, minimise effects,
etc are enabled. Other plugins that also need to be enabled by default (and are
not currently done so even in the X11:/Compiz version of packages) are:-
1.Workarounds (various miscellaneous fixes for openoffice menus, etc.)
2.Fading windows (fade effect on windows and menus, enabled by default upto
11.2)
3.Rotate Cube (Desktop Cube is enabled and Rotate cube is not; also was enabled
by default upto 11.2)
4.Place Windows (to have mapped windows be placed smartly, instead of randomly)
5.Scale (also enabled by default in 11.2; however, on a related note, it would
be nice if you could also look into bug 592693 and change the scale association
from top-right to top-left)
I also enable the Window previews plugin every time since it gives a visual
feedback about currently open windows from the panel, but this has not been the
default in versions till 11.2 and it is up to you to decide if this can/should
be enabled by default.
Hope that helps.
