I am sorry if you took that personnaly.  I don't know you and I even do not
know who is in charge of what.

was the command to set the keyboard layout in grub, and that what was missing
is the glue to let the bootloader installer/configurator know which keyboard
layout was selected by the user.

I have tested

        gfxboot --change-config base::keymap=be-latin1

yesterday and saw that it seems not to do anything related to grub keyboard
layout, so I surmise that the french layout installed when the french language
is selected is only a side-effect in grub that works for big countries (at
least France and US) but not for smaller ones.

I am also a programmer, so I understand your personal point of view about
limited time and amount of work.
