Tried to load OpenSUSE 11.3 MS4 Live CD in VMware Server (ver.2.0.2, latest
available) hosted on Windows Vista.
It is available as free download at
http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_server/2_0
Tested both GNOME and KDE Live CDs.
Same result - system starts loading, than switches to graphics mode (GDM or KDM
startup?) and I see black graphics screen.
And no response to mouse or keyboard.
Added ipv6.disable as boot option - no change.
And it seems VMware doesn't allow/pass-through to change to Terminal 1 via
Ctrl+Alt+F1. At least it doesn't work here. Any tips how to overcome it would
be appreciated.
As an alternative - it should be possible to capture log at TTY3.
Question is how to connect to TTY3 in VM from host system?
VMware Server I have is installed on Windows Vista Host.
I am not familiar with VMware as VirtualBox suits better my needs.
But for case like this it's can be a good testing option.
