Thanks for providing the data. There seem to be two keyboards visible by the
system even before you connect the external USB one (which is DELL QuietKey
one) -- PS/2 one and USB one (413c:8121, which is USB device and has actually
two interfaces, one being keyboard and the other one presenting itself as a
mouse).
The PS/2 keyboard should be accessible through /dev/input/event0 ... could you
please run
evtest /dev/input/event0
and try to press keys on the standard notebook keyboard, and check whether
there is any output from evtest?
If not, it would also be interesting to see the output of kernel booted with
'i8042.debug' kernel commandline parameter.
(evtest is contained in input-utils package).
