Summary: use /usr/bin/hostid from coreutils
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.2
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem

/usr/bin/hostid is a custom implementation, packaged in in the util-linux
package. Other distributions use the version of coreutils. The output of the
coreutils version is slightly different. The command seems unused and not
really useful anyways so switching to the coreutils version should be no
problem.
hostid is not covered by LSB AFAICS:
