http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=581589 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=581589#c0 Summary: no permissions to play sound, change backlight, powermanagement Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: olaf@aepfle.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091222 SUSE/3.5.7-1.1.1 Firefox/3.5.7 A fresh installed system, after logging into KDE4, does not allow access to sound devices, and putting the system to sleep or standby (Ruhezustand or Tiefschlaf) have no effect. Also the pulldown menu to select the "Energieprofil" has an empty entry per default. Other profiles like performace or presentation are still offered, but not selected per default. After login, KDE4 shows a popup message that the sound device is not accessible. A logout and relogin into KDE4 does not help. I will attach various logfiles from the systems, as I have no idea what system component is responsible for the desktop permission granting. I suspect its ConsoleKit, because there is a warning about an unhandled direntry ".svn" in /var/log/messages The system has /etc under version control.
