http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=579081 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=579081#c0 Summary: photopile screensaver causes system lockup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: admin@different-perspectives.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I was suffering intermittent lockups of the oS 11.2 gnome system when idle. Only available recover route was power cycle then filesystem rebuild. I believe these are caused by the photopile screensaver, as I saw this screensaver loading, get to 71% and then lockup. I have gnome as the desktop under gdm with the screensaver set as "random". I have x-screensavers + gnome-screensavers installed. I've removed this screensaver (deleted the files) and the lockups have (so far) stopped. I have no evidence from the lockups of exactly what was happening - nothing in the system logs, no dumps (computer was still running). Is there any way I can collect evidence about whether this was the culprit and about why it was failing? Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Wait! 2. wait some more! 3. Actual Results: Sometime it locks up. No log entries. No dump produced. I have a large collection of print quality photos from a variety of sources on this computer. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
