http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577886 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577886#c0 Summary: jack package dependencies are incorrect/miss version information Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: edogawa@aon.at QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.3; Linux) KHTML/4.3.4 (like Gecko) SUSE the jack package in openSUSE:11.2/standard and multimedia:libs have insufficient dependencies listed. According to jack developers, the main jack package must hard lock to the same version of libjack0, and vice versa for jack to function properly (libjack-devel may be less critical, but still will miss function declarations that have been added with the update). This might not be a problem if jack doesn't get updated during an openSUSE release cycle, but as I realize there are several newer (>0.116.2) jack packages in OBS which have been spawned from the main package spec. If someone updates to such a version it is possible to just update jack, and leave libjack0 at the old version. I believe to have fixed this in the jack-0.118.0 package in home:edogawa, by adding version information to the relevant Provides:, Requires: and Obsoletes: lines in the spec file.
