http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577795 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=577795#c0 Summary: grub: ability to play sound at boot screen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Nowadays computers have complex sequence of boot screens -- BIOS, graphics cards, Ethernet boot, etc. When you pay attention and you have monitor attached of course it is easy (relatively) to notice when finally you have grub boot screen loaded. But without monitor (in case of servers) is not that easy -- you have to count beeps, or time, to estimate, the computer is now at "grub stage". So, it would be useful to have something which can distinguish grub from any other low-level bios-alike screen --> a sound. Simple "ta da" would make a difference. So the wish is, user could pick up file to play at start (of grub start screen). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
