The puppet-server-0.24.8-2.1.i586.rpm fails to create a puppet user and group however meaning that the puppetmasterd crashes as soon as you try to start it. Suggest adding this to the postinstall of the RPM: groupadd puppet useradd puppet -g puppet Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. service puppetmasterd start 2. 3.
