http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573656 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573656#c0 Summary: Suspend/hibernate doesn't work from KDE4 when booted into kernel-default Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: vkrevs@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 I've got openSUSE 11.2 for x86_64 running latest KDE 4.3.4 packages from OBS on a Dell Studio 1737 laptop. All the latest updates are installed. The machine has two kernels installed - kernel-desktop and kernel-default. $ rpm -q kernel-desktop kernel-default kernel-desktop-2.6.31.8-0.1.1.x86_64 kernel-default-2.6.31.8-0.1.1.x86_64 If I boot into kernel-desktop, then suspend to disk via KDE menu (Leave->Suspend To Disk), or via the Battery Monitor widget (click->Hibernate), works just fine . If I boot into kernel-default, then then suspend to disk via KDE menu (Leave->Suspend To Disk), or via the Battery Monitor widget (click->Hibernate), no longer works. Nothing happens at all. However, pm-hibernate from root konsole works. Why would it make a difference to KDE which kernel I have booted into?
